Moment Control Unit
Moment control is a system that defines the safe operating limits of a vehicle or equipment. This control is related to the torque (rotational force) required to maintain the stability and safety of the vehicle. It is especially used in cranes, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
SAFE OPERATING RANGE
The moment control system continuously monitors factors such as the boom angle, length, and the weight being carried, ensuring these factors remain within a specific range. If the boom angle, length, or weight exceeds safe operating limits, the moment control system intervenes and prevents the vehicle from operating under these conditions. This helps to prevent tipping or other hazardous situations.
BOOM ANGLE AND LENGTH
Boom, is the moveable extension of machines like cranes or excavators. The angle and length of the boom determine how far or how high the load can be carried. The longer the boom, the greater the moment (rotational force) created by the load. Similarly, the angle of the boom also affects the moment; a more horizontal angle generates more moment.
CARRIED WEIGHT
The weight lifted or carried by a vehicle or equipment is one of the most critical components of the moment. A heavier load generates a greater moment, which can pose a risk to the stability of the vehicle.
